1) Is it posssible in solidworks to roll structural steel and achive a flat pattern?
2) Can solidworks put holes in a rolled sheet metal part & the holes remain true in the flat pattern?
I am a former solidworks person but I am stuck with Inventor at my current gig and Inventor can not do either.

Joe Galliera

SW move to Italy?!?!?! Where did you hear that from? Not happening.

Don Van Zile

Hey Mike,

1) I'm interested in knowing what there take is on the 'Direct Modeling' push in the industry, especially now that UGS recently announced it in NX6.

2), maybe see if you could get any insight of their future direction might be with it. A combination of both perhaps? See what you could get disclosed from them.

3) Are they working hard at getting more and more things to be multi-core based functions?

Richard Williams

Hi Mike, since you are going there could you please get answers to two questions or at least put them to rest. #1. Is there any truth that the SolidWorks Corporation will be moving to Italy? #2. Will SolidWorks come out with an add on to the core programt that will give users an architectural tool bar, making a good competitor to other Architectural programs out there? Thanks my freind.
