For those wondering who she is, Lynn Allen is the Technical Evangelist for Autodesk. I recently posted that she was here attending Solidworks World in San Diego. So if you're confused as to why someone from Autodesk is attending a Solidworks event, Lynn was gracious enough to sit down with me and answer some questions. The interview lasts about 12 minutes.

Dear Lynn,
please add me to your mailing list!
Are you planning any new books to publish?
CADD2009 and 3d information is always a big
help. What software would you suggest for
steel components detailing and estimating?
I really enjoy you. Do you ever have a seminar or get togethers at Autodesk in San Rafael?
No hurry on the response I know how busy you are.
Thanks,
Carol Botelho

I believe Lynn Allen did an outstanding job answering the question in her own unique manner. I wish she could spend about a month at my company a tech assistant. I don't think we would ever let her leave.

Lynn Allen, is a very technically trained person who is employed by Autodesk. As an invited guest of the SolidWorks 2008 World Conference, she must be extended the utmost courtesies as all would do anyway. I don't even consider her to be the competition of SolidWorks. Her progressive ideas and Blog accounts can show insight into all other MCAD's as well as her own companies applications. When MCAD applications are compared only two in my mind are worthy to be called opponents of one another. SolidWorks and Inventor. The Inventor advocates keep SolidWorks innovation and planning going way beyond today.

Nice job. You asked some tough questions, but didn't beat her up in the process.
